Sunday School offers an exciting opportunity to study the Bible and to discover how it applies to our personal lives. Those who attend Sunday School get the opportunity to make friends, and enjoy the wonderful fellowship that comes with those relationships, and to be formed as followers of Jesus. Milton Baptist has various classes, for all ages, which meet on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The following is a list of classes, teachers, room numbers, and approximate ages offered here at Milton Baptist. 9:45 a.m. Classes Nursery Department Crib Room – Birth thru 1 year old – Room 1A Teachers: Natosha Brandon, Tiffany Stewart, Rob and Amanda Rivest Toddlers – 2 and 3 year old – Room 1B Teachers: Jennifer Holly, Pam Smith, Alyssa Starcher Description: This class uses Hands-On Bible Curriculum for Toddlers by Judson Press. Hands-On Bible Curriculum provides fun learning tools to make the Bible memorable. One-point Bible learning helps kids remember Bible truths and apply them to their lives. This program lets kids explore life issues and then apply them to Bible truths. Children Department Kindergarten – 4 and 5 year old – Room 3 Teacher: Sherry Perry Description: Heart Shaper Pre-K & K Curriculum by Standard Publishing is the material used in this class. This curriculum builds on the Bible stories and concepts taught to preschool children, adding more details to Bible stories, integrating pre- reading skills, and offering simple group games. 1st & 2nd Grade – 6 thru 8 year old – Room 9 Teachers: Wendy Billups, Shirley Taylor, Michelle Stewart, Byron Alfrey, Amy and Scott LeRose Description: This class uses Primetime by Gospel Light which focuses on this age group’s emerging reading skills by helping children explore Bible stories and verses that they are able to understand and recall. They learn that God wants our trust and obedience, which leads them to Jesus, their Savior. 3rd-5th Grade – 9 thru 12 year old – Room 11 Teachers: Debbie Sweeney, Stephanie Waugh, Krista Dailey, Jill Freeman, Susie Stewart Description: This class uses iExplore by Gospel Light. The program has a variety of fun learning activities, meaningful discussion questions, and connects bible truth with everyday situations. The children learn how to explore and obey God’s word, trust Jesus as Savior and tell others about Him. Adult Department Fellowship Class – Room 13 Teacher: Robert Bailey Description: For those who enjoy lively discussions of how to apply the Gospel to the every day challenges that we encounter. The class has members ranging in age from the 30s through 60s. Some have young children, some have teens, and some have grandchildren. We strive to be a caring group sincerely interested in how God is working in the life of every member. We share our joys and our sorrows and we pray for one another. Over the years we have used an eclectic mix of study materials such as books, videos, short studies on specific subjects, and devotionals. Everyone’s opinions and insights are encouraged and welcomed. If you are seeking a study group at MBC, please give us a visit. Friends Class – Room10 (This class is offered at 9:45 a.m. and also at 11:00 a.m.) Teacher: Ted Smith Substitute Teacher: Gary Sovine Description: This class is open to adults of all ages and is devoted to the study of scripture and its application to our lives. A lecture format is used following the Uniform Lesson Series that focuses on scripture and is open to group discussion. The Friends class is a diverse class and individual participation is encouraged at the level each individual desires. The class strives to be a close fellowship of “friends” that show concern for each other as they endeavor to fully reflect and embrace the fullness of life that God offers. Good Shepherd Class – Room 4 Teachers: Everett Ross and Mick Rowan Description: This class is a coed Adult Bible Study. Class begins with fellowship and prayer. Teaching and discussion is from 10: 00 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. All ages are welcome. We have married couples and singles committed to the study of God’s Word using the international Sunday school lesson as our guide. The teachers challenge the class to discuss and apply the scripture to their everyday lives. God is alive and working in HIS church today. Our goal is to look for ways to share the gospel with others. Fidelis Class – Room 7 Teacher: Robert Ball Description: The Fidelis class started many years ago as a young married couples class and now has evolved as one of the mature/senior groups of couples and singles who meet each Sunday morning in Christian fellowship and for the study of God’s Word using the David C. Cook International Sunday School material. Many of our class members are former Sunday School teachers and public school teachers and appreciate the history background our teacher brings out for discussion. We always welcome new members and visitors of all ages to join us. Hensley Class – Room 5 Teacher: Alyce Ball Description: This class consist of a group of mature ladies who have served the church faithfully through the years. Their love for each other and the church is an example for all. They use the Judson Press literature. 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Classes Youth Department, 9:45 a.m. 6th-12th Grade – 12 thru 18 year old – Room 8 Teacher: Rhonda Null Youth Department, 11:00 a.m. 6th-12th Grade – 12 thru 18 year old – Room 8 Teachers: Cindy & Rich Mills, Dave & Mallory Jarrell, Cassie & Chris Mercer, Doug Freeman Description: These classes are using a new study called YLO which is a Bible study based on the best of today’s contemporary Christian music. Each session will begin with the music and video. Then the truths of the song will be investigated. Some of the artists used are Reliant K, Tenth Avenue North, Red, Sanctus Real, David Crowder Band, Paige Armstrong and Casting Crowns. 11:00 Classes College and Career – Room 6 Teachers: Patrick & Tiffany Stewart Description: The main objective of this class is to build relationships and a strong bond to be there for each other. Adult Class – Multi-purpose Room (room 4) Teachers: Mike Smith and Phil Dailey Description: This class has done a variety of different studies that involve a lot of discussions. The class strives to be a close group of friends that show concern for each other and how God is working in each and every members life.
